Standing at the edge of the water, I watch the reflections and the motions. I destroy the liquid mirror by throwing a stone into it. PLATSCH! A fluid sculpture is created. The camera captures this act of destruction and transforms it to an image. At the same time this image becomes a piece of evidence. I am the perpetrator and criminologist in one person.
The photographic series PLATSCH! is a visual research project pertaining to the destruction of water surfaces. Currently it consists of 448 photographs plus the associated informations concerning place, time, weight of the stone and drop height. The series will continue until every single water surface on this planet is destroyed and documented.
